Subject: Update on Eastern OH DSL
Hi all
This is just a FYI in case this comes up.
As you know, we do DSL in the 330 area code (essentially Akron/Canton
lata). Several of those DSL folks over there have been calling complaining
of slower-than-dial-up-speeds. Our research showed that of our two
bandwidth provider in that area, one was failing us miserably. Long story,
but the fix is to change to the other bandwidth provider. You do this by
changing to another IP address and Default Gateway.
Old IP/Gateway
208.226.172.xx
208.226.172.254
New IP/Gateway
208.44.89.xx
208.44.89.254
So essentially they are only changing the middle two octets of the IP. Be
sure to have them change their gateway too. We called each one to tell them
this info, but of course, got answering machines, etc. I do not expect you
to get many calls, but be prepared to help if you get some.
Respectfully,
